The Great Escape is thrilled to be announcing an initial line-up of acts to play across its 30 venues in Brighton this May. Crossing genres from Catalan garage to Australian Electro-chant, UK Surf to Canadian Blues, a staggering host of remarkable sounds are on show already. Old or young, jaded or woefully naïve, TGE 2012 will have something to surprise you.

Live in Brighton? Free this weekend? Fancy going to the Big Chill Festival? We might just be able to help you....
Thanks to all of you who entered our competition last week- we were truly stunned by the number of entrants! We are delighted to announce that the winner of a pair of VIP passes to this year's Big Chill Festival is.... Leon Cole!
Saturday came as soon as Friday went, I’d like to say that I had plenty of sleep in-between, but alas a programme of DJs through ‘til the early hours at Coalition had put pay to that. However, an afternoon of diverse (and hopefully good) music at Life on the seafront was all I needed to sort me out. That, and a bit of sun, of course.
Rather than having the usual chaos of trying to get around all of Brighton’s venues during the blind panic that is trying to find the cream of the crop at the Great Escape Festival, I chose three of Brighton’s best venues that were involved, which also happened to handily be within 2 minutes of each other and tried to see as much as is humanly possible over two days.
This exciting new venue will be an extension of LIFE, run by the same team with a focus of providing you with the same great mix of music, drinks and atmosphere you’re used to.
If you haven't heard of JAMES BLAKE you've probably been living alone in a cave, naked, for the last year, only leaving to shoot at ducks and scream jumbled obscenities at the lonely night sky. Since we first put him on in March last year James has all but taken over the world, from gaining Radio 1 A playlist status to coming second in the sound of 2011 poll and gathering praise from everyone from Fact to The Guardian.
The Great Escape, Europe’s leading event for showcasing new musical talent announces the first artists for the 2011 festival. Taking place in Brighton over 3 days in May, The Great Escape kick starts the festival season, introducing 15,000 music lovers to the key artists and sounds of the year.
Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health. As a key local supporter of the cause, Drink in Brighton is looking for your help in making this year’s campaign bigger and better than ever.
On November 27th, 14 countries will participate in exchanging their nightlife, cultures and a night never experienced before. Share your ideas on what the UK should send by popping down to the Smirnoff Crate, situated on East Street from 7pm on October 16th.
In these troubled financial times, one of the few success stories we've seen in the drinks trade has been real ale. No longer the sole preserve of tankard weilding, beard wearing 'enthusiasts', real ale now finds iteslf at the forefront of a national trend toward supporting small businesses, buying local produce and consuming organic ingredients.
