Synonymous with unique fringe experiences, under the management of Tarik Elmoutawakil and David Sheppeard The Marlborough Theatre has reestablished its position as one of Brighton Fringe’s most prolific venues. 2011 shows The Marlborough Theatre continuing from strength-to-strength with 24 shows and 74 performances taking place on the little stage in the heart of Brighton.
A diverse mix of Theatre, Comedy, Cabaret and Kids shows make up this year’s programme. From a site-specific wedding gone wrong, to time-travelling music hall knees up gone very right – The Marlborough is the place for adventurous audience members.
We are proud to be supporting local artists including playwright Kefi Chadwick whose witty and sophisticated Mathematics of the Heart lies at the centre of our theatre programme. The Marlborough is also welcoming an influx of artists from around the country including Manchester’s acclaimed Rocket Theatre (www.rockettheatre.co.uk) with the gripping one-man show My Friend William and the best of London’s comedy scene with regular Timeout Critics choice Max & Ivan (www.maxandivan.com).
The Marlborough Theatre also continues to host Pink Fringe supporting Queer and LGBT performance in Brighton, which is marking it’s first birthday. This year Pink Fringe offers up Unknown Pleasures a season of five new pieces of work for fringe festival audiences, see www.pinkfringe.org.uk for details.
