"Amazing sausage action (steady on) to go with a truly excellent beer range." - Esquire Magazine (10 Brilliant British Pubs - April 2013)
With the sort of friendly, laid-back feel more usually found in an old-school locals’ boozer, the Shakespeare’s Head is a gem of a pub situated just off the Seven Dials.. Boasting three outside areas, including some brand new decking and seating for outdoor drinking and dining, this is a lively yet cosy venue attracting people of all ages. Offering a delicious selection of local ales such as Dark Star, Laines, and Southdowns, draught Belgian beer, fine wines and a great selection of spirits.
The food however, is truly famous; most people in Brighton have heard of "the bangers and mash pub". With 14 sausage varieties, ten flavours of mash and four tasty gravies to choose from plus award winning Sunday roasts, Shakies has a food following bordering on the obsessive. A lively pub playing music just left of centre, from Talking Heads to War on Drugs, and Rolling Stones to Wooden Shjips. With lovely customers and friendly bar staff, you may have just found your new favourite pub.
We have a small back room, which can seat 15-20 people for food and drink, with its own access to the bar.
