About the Venue
Originally opened in 1864, The Quadrant has been serving the needs of thirsty Brightonians and visitors alike for almost 150 years!. Located next to the Clock Tower at the crossroads between Brighton’s busiest streets, it forms a focal point for those wishing to escape from the bustle of town and relax with a pint or two…
As its name suggests, one of the Quadrants earliest owners envisioned its position as key to its identity, attracting in customers coming down from the train station and up from the seafront. All this time later the original vision still holds true. The Quadrant uniquely combines this transient atmosphere with a more local and friendly feel.
The importance of the pub to city life was underlined just a few years back when a popular campaign was mounted to save it from demolition. Now a grade 2 listed bar, The Quadrant has been refurbished and restored to its former glory. It still retains plenty of traditional charm, boasting a shining bar, and specialising in traditional local ales that match the quality of the architecture. As a centre point for socialising, The Quadrant now hosts popular comedy, jazz and blues, quiz and open mic nights which cater to all tastes and are guaranteed to pull in an eclectic crowd.
The Quadrant is now serving food, whilst the upstairs area available to rent for private parties - please ask within.
