“Two tunnels of fun – I’ve had some excellent nights out here and met some really amazing people. It might be small but it’s far and away the best club on the seafront.”

“No-one does after-parties quite like the Buddha. I’ve reached a state of enlightenment on numerous occasions, emerging to the beach in the early hours. If it doesn’t last – well, there’s always next week.”

About the Venue

Smaller than most of its neighbours, the Funky Buddha Lounge is a stylish and highly characterful seafront club essentially shaped like two giant interlinked tubes, with bars at the front and back. A strict door policy, especially at weekends helps to maintain the desired atmosphere and thanks to a highly varied range of music, stretching from indie to RnB to disco its constantly changing in styles. The Buddha is also renowned for its late-night sessions, kicking off at 3am and Friday and Saturday, and is now a well-established mecca for Brighton’s party-loving creatures of the night.

Maxxi Soundsystem takes over the club every saturday night @ the Funky Buddha Lounge, follwign an afternoon session on the terrace at Life. Anyone who's been along to any of last summer's festivals or out in London's underground clubs / warehouse parties will know that the resurgence of disco is in full swing and the guys behind Maxxi Soundsystem have been behind it all the way in Brighton.
